I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Turquoise Beauty

Project 8 of my Simply Betty Stamps Challenge: Color every image in the Simply Betty Collection. That's over 500 images not including the new releases this year. Want to know the details? Click HERE. Join my blog and cheer me on while I work my way through the Simply Betty Catalog.

For this project, I was inspired by the monochromatic challenge at Simply Betty Stamps. I chose the gorgeous image called Free Spirit Maria

Often when I do monochromatic challenges, I stick to a gray scale or a sepia combination, but today, I went with turquoise. Yup, turquoise. I used on a few Copic colors: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15.

To create the card, I cut her out of a Spellbinders die cut and added turquoise ribbon flowers. The butterfly die cut is colored with glitter pen, although it is hard to tell in the photo. Finally, I used a sentiment from CardzTV stamps from the Just Saying stamp set. CardzTV stamp sets are so versatile. They are my go-to sets for sentiments.

This card is going to my mother. She happened to see the image and loved it, so I'm sending the finished piece to her. I love coloring for her because she thinks everything I do is perfect.

Challenges Entered:
Bunny Zoe Crafts: For the Girl
Craftin' Desert Divas: Ribbon
The Crazy Challenge: For My Mom
Suzy Bee's: Monochromatic
