I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Butterfly Friendship

It's time for another card challenge with Cardz TV stamps. Our challenge this week is Butterflies! I absolutely love using butterflies as an accent, so this time, I trie using butterflies as a focal point. Don't forget to check out all of our design team inspirations.

For my project, I used the SVG base card from Birds Cards. It's the simple double square mat with the six butterflies cut out. I used a bright red polka dot pattern paper as my insert. I added meta flowers, a metal-isn looking paper for the heart banner die-cut, and black gems.

On the inside, I decorated with a patterned paper, cut out butterflies, and the sentiment from the Cardz TV  set, Just Saying set.

I am really excited about this butterfly-spring inspired card, and I know exactly who I want to give it to.

Love Notes

The best part of making cards and other projects, and that is, you can customize and find inspiration for a special person in your life. For me, that is my husband, and I love to sneak cards in his briefcase or in his desk or in his closet to find. This card is sitting right now on his office desk waiting for him to come home.

I started with the overlays which I downloaded for free from Birds Cards. They have incredible files and examples of projects. I chose blue and black for the overlays.

Next, I popped the chipboard circle with sentiment into the center. Finally, I tied it with a bow!

Clean and Simple in 10 minutes.

You're So Cool.

Project 4 of my Simply Betty Stamps Challenge: Color every image in the Simply Betty Collection. That's over 500 images not including the new releases this year. Want to know the details? Click HERE.

For this project, I started with the Simply Betty stamp, The Mortician's Daughter. The great thing about using this image is that it comes with a FREE tutorial on how to color two-toned hair. I decided to use a combination of gray and purple with my Copic markers.

Skin: E21, E11, E51, E04
Hair: V04, V06, W7, W9

I added a die cut flower from Joy Crafts and the sentiment from CardzTV, "Just Saying" set.
To complete the card, I used a gate fold template cutting file from Birds Cards and tied it with a bow.
