I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Hello Earthling

I have this great stack of patterned paper called Boyhood by DCWV, and in it, is a blast from the past... the space invaders that we loved back in the day when we played with Atari's and not smartphones. I have always wanted to use this paper, but couldn't find the right inspiration. Cue the Out of this World stamp set from My Favorite Things.

I cut and stamped two rocket ships to add to the card. I chose to use an orange plaid underneath the space invader paper so it would pop a bit more. I finished with the sentiment Hello Earthlings from the Out of this World stamp set from Scrappy Moms.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Leave a comment or subscribe to the list. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Lantern Light

Lately, I have been really drawn to Oriental or Asian designs, especially lantern, so I was thrilled to find this stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers. I coupled the stamped lanterns with two die cut lanterns by Spellbinders. I paired the colors orange and turquoise in the lanterns, my favorite combination. Because I wanted the overall look to be elegant, I added a floral corner border from Spellbinders in black to match the black of the sentiments.

Out of This World

I have fallen in love with the stamp set Out of this World by My Favorite things. There are several rockets, aliens, and sentiments to choose from. I started my card with a blue base (sort of like the night sky) and embossed it with a Darice Clouds folder. Next, I stamped the rocket and colored it with Copics. I added a few orange stars to the back ground, and then I added a sentiment. This sentiment comes from Scrappy Mom's set also titled Out of this Wold. The sentiment says, Shooting By to Say Hi.

Father's Day

Greeting Crafter's
Here is my blog hop post for CardzTV today.

I wanted to try to come up with something really different for my Father's Day card... I have done mustaches, ties, tools, and more. I found this adorable lizard by CC Designs, and I knew I wanted to use it. I used my Copic markers to color it in.

B000, B00, B02, B04
YG05, YG17, YG99
E23, E25, E29

I cut the lizard using the Spellbinders die cut Nestabilities Labels 23.
I used two Cardz TV stamp sets for the two sentiments: Heavenly and Happy Days.
I added the Spellbinders die cuts Shapeabilities Foliage to the bottom left corner, and finally, a button that is decorated like a tortoise shell.

The plaid paper is from DCWV, The Boyhood Stack.

For my Mom

I had a wonderful time with my family for Mother's Day. I wanted to make my mom a special card to let her know how much she means to me. I used patterned paper from the Recollections Black Jack stack, Sweet & Sassy It's a Girl Thing stamp set, and the CardzTV Going in circles stamp set. I added a small floral jewel in the center of the circle. I'm pleased to say that my mom love it.

Mother's Day

I am so excited to be part of the Cardz TV Blog Hop. The stamps are easy to use and easier to clean. Each stamp set has numerous possibilities. For my project, I wanted to get a head start on Mother's Day next year. I started with a floral image on the corner and colored it with Copic colors in B000, B00, B02, and B05. I added some glitter dots all around the flower. Next, I used Cardz TV's Simple Thoughts to stamp the image live each day with laughter. Then at the top of the card,  I used the Mother's Day stamps from the CardzTV set Going in Circles. Now, I have a whole year to wait to give it to my amazing mother.

Luv You

Greeting Crafter's
Here is my Gallery Post for CardzTV today. I am showcasing a clean and simple card that I made for my boyfriend. He's supportive, loving, caring, understanding, and encouraging. He's the total package. Did I mention he is totally beautiful. I love making cards for him as little surprises from time to time.

For this card, I started by taking a red piece of cardstick and embossed it with a Darice heart embossing folder. Then, I punched the tag from an EK Success punch and stamped my sentiment using CardzTV Love Ya Set.

Now, it gets fun. I fell in love with these puffy dimensional heart stickers that I found at Target for $2. There were two sheets of stickers, each sheet with 10, and all in the same love you theme. I simply layered the sticker I wanted onto two scalloped circle punches. Each layer is popped.

My plan is to make more of the cards with the different puffy stickers to send to all of my nephews and niece.
