I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Martini anyone?

Project 6 of my Simply Betty Stamps Challenge: Color every image in the Simply Betty Collection. That's over 500 images not including the new releases this year. Want to know the details? Click HERE. Join my blog and cheer me on while I work my way through the Simply Betty Catalog.

For today's project, I was inspired to use Martini Melissa. She popped out at me because of her dress. It is super cute and summery and reminds me of 1950s (maybe earlier) models. I decided to go with a bright orange for her dress, and I paired that with purple (my new favorite color combination).

I used my Copics to color her:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E21, R20
Hair: E21, E25, E29
Orange: YR000, YR02, YR04, YR07
Purple: V01, V04, V09

The sentiment stamp is from Paper Smooches, stamp set Free Spirits.
I added the postage stamp because I imagined sending this to a friend living far away.
To add a bit of texture and pop, I added those orange sequins.

Challenges Entered:
C.R.A.F.T Challenge: CAS
Red Rubber Inspirationals: Let's Hear it for the Girl
Chocolate Baroque Challenge: Color combination (love the purple and orange!!!)
