I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

For my project, I had wedding on my mind. Not mine of course; I have been married 17 years! But June just reminds me of young love and weddings. I have a tendency to go very traditional on wedding card, so I decided to switch it up and go whimsy.

I started with this great die cut sentiment from the Cricut cartridge Summer Celebrations. Next, it was all about adding texture. I layered a gray mat underneath the white mat which is embossed in a dot pattern. I added flowers with Skittles (watermelon, my favorite color) to the center of the flowers, and then I finished it with fun metal quilled hearts.

Challenges Entered:
Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards - Black, White + one other color
Cut it Up - Wedding Bells
Make My Monday - Pretty in Pink
Tuesday Throwdown - Wedding
Little Red Wagon - Wedding
Exploring Cricut and More - Wedding
