I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #210 Celebrate Mom

This Weeks Sponsor

$50.00 Giftcard to SVG Cuts

~This Weeks Challenge~

Celebrate Mom
Create a project that celebrates mom.

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

For my project, I chose to create this see-thru card (I Love Mom See-Thru) from SVGcuts.com. I have been wanting to make a see-thru card for a long time. It has such a great effect and is the perfect card base for layering multiple images. For mom, I wanted hearts, flowers, and sentiments. I loved adding the twine down the side of the card because it almost feels like a book since the card is see-thru.

For the inside, I used the CardzTV circle stamp, and I used random magnet words for the sentiments. The butterfly sentiment is from my stash. The flower is full of glitter, and the heart is a brad —all from my stash.

For the rest of the circles, I used a scallop punch in black to break up the blue and red, then added the white stamp circle, the heart circle (cut using the Simply Sweet Cricut cartridge), and the flower circle (cut using the Picturesque Cricut cartridge).
