I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Leaves...

Challenge #16: Fall with a Die Cut and Stamp

It's time for another challenge at ScrapbookerPhD, and I am super excited about the theme. I have finally finished all of my Halloween cards for my friends and family including my 3 nephews and niece, and am ready to start Thanksgiving cards. My inspiration for this card was watching the leaves around my area changing colors (and falling to the ground). Here, I started with this fabulous leaf paper from Close to My Heart, the Pathfinding collection. Buy it HERE.  Because the leaf pattern was subtle, I went ahead and embossed the paper with another, but bolder, leaf pattern. 

Next, I used my Sizzix nested circle die cuts to cut a circle just big enough for the sentiment from the CardzTV set Going in Circles. Last, I added a bit of ribbon.

    Love the simple elegance of this, Faith; it caught my eye immediately at AAA Cards. The dry embossing is stunning; I love it yet have gotten away from it. Need to start using the embossing folders again!
