I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Starting School

It's time for another 3D project challenge with Cardz TV. The theme for this challenge is School.

If you follow along with my blog, you know that I have three nephews on my brother's side. This is year, the eldest is going to first grade, and the middle is going to preschool. These are exciting times folks! Having already made a card for my eldest, it was time to make something for the middle nephew going to preschool.

Oh this little guy. He is such a sweetheart and has these amazingly soft hands that you just want to kiss. I made this tri-fold-shutter card with his hands in mind. On each of the layers of the card, I used popped and puffy embellishments that he can poke or touch, and he can recognize everything. I know he will just love the bits of glitter everywhere.

I left plenty of "white space" so that he doesn't get overwhelmed at each level, and there is a lot of places where we can "collect" signatures from the family.

Finally, I added Skittles to each layer in alternating in the coordinating colors: citrus, watermelon, and denim. Then, used the Cardz TV sentiment from the Garden Greetings set.

Challenges
Party Time Tuesday: Back to School
Crafty Card Makers: Fancy Folds
