I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Father's Day Tri-Shutter Fold

It's time for another 3D project challenge with Cardz TV. The theme for this challenge is Father's Day. My sample card for the CardzTV is a Father's Day Tri-Shutter Fold.

I have always admired the intricate folding of the tri-shutter fold card, and now it is so easy to achieve. You can find SVG files with the template, companies like Sizzix have die cuts that cut the base of the card, and there are tons of tutorial on how to make one yourself.

For my project, I used the DCWV paper pack, The Guy Stack, with a touch of yellow floral cardstock from My Mind's Eye, Remarkable, paper pack. I adhered all the paper first before I settled on my decorations and die cuts. I wanted some semi-vintage or heritage looking die cuts, so I used all cuts from the Cricut Cartridge, Billionaire, and made everything black and white where possible.

I used two of the CardzTV stamp sets from the sets: You're the Man and Going in Circles. Each of these phrases were cut out of white scalloped punches and then matted with paper from the card.

Finally, I used Pebble Glitter Skittles from AKA Abusybee Skittles. These are such beautiful alternative to flat gems. I'm already almost out of the Pebble Glitter Skittles!
