I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Emily's Kimono

I simply love the combination of yellow/orange with turquoise.
That is the color palette I decided to use to color this gorgeous Lacy Sunshine image, Emily's Kimono.

I have to admit, this was a fun image to color now that I have taken skin, hair, and clothing classes from Kit and Clowder with Alyce Keegan. I'm starting to understand light source and shading. For example, how to create depth with skin, how to highlight hair, and how to blend colors in clothing. If you have any interest in learning more about coloring, I highly suggest you go to Kit and Clowder and look over their classes.

I've colored this image with my Copics.
Hair: C1, C3, C4, C5
Dress: Yellow Y11, Y13, Y15, Y18, Blue, B02, Orange YR 09
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20, R22
Umbrella: B01, B04

To finish the card, I added a turquoise and white die cut butterfly and orange and yellow flowers - seriously how many flowers do you have in your stash. I just organized mine by color so they are easier to find.

The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Stamps (the Lanterns set) and cut out on a decorative die cut.
