I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Sugar Skull Kay

Project 17 of my Simply Betty Stamps Challenge: Color every image in the Simply Betty Collection. That's over 500 images not including the new releases this year. I'm getting closer to 20, but with a big release weekend, I need to be coloring like a madman around the clock. Come join my blog and cheer me on while I work my way through the Simply Betty Catalog.

For this project, I used a retired image in the steampunk category. Everything on this card was inspired by the colorful sugar skull button at the bottom right. I used the orange, turquoise, and black for all of my color choices. I added a few embellishments in addition to the sugar skull button: ribbon, bow, and metal gears.

This one is going to my mother because she just loves Steampunk images and Victorian style dresses. I just know she is going to love the bright colors here.

Challenges Entered:
Digi Galore - It's All About Her
My Time to Craft - For a Special Lady
Cards for Eternity - Female Theme
Crafty Catz - Buttons and Bows
Creating in Faith Hope and Love: Throwback (retired stamp)
