I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Cake!

Today is the day! Another great challenge at DoubleClick Skittles. The inspiration for this week is Birthdays! Come join us in our challenge.

For my card, I wanted to make a birthday card for a teenage girl. I decided to use The Uptown Flair paper stack by The paper studio for my inspiration. The sentiment is cut from the Cricut cartridge, Once Upon a Princess. I love the combination of hot pink, black, and bright green, so I used a glittered green paper for the accents on the sentiment. I added some green skittles, but they look more pink here, and then this wonderful pom pom ribbon at the bottom.

Challenges Entered:
Card Mania - Color Combination
Eureka Stamps - Celebrations
My Craft Spot - Sentiment as Focal Point
Scrappy Hands - Birthday
Craft for the Craic - Birthday
