I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

At least you're Not Extinct: Happy Birthday

I'm starting to love challenges that provide a photos for inspiration. Today, I am working on the photo inspiration from Muse (A Card Making Club). Take a look at this example by Therese Calvird. Can you imagine my surprise when I recognized this stamp set - I have the same set in my stash!

I decided to take elements from the inspiration photo and turn this into a masculine birthday card. I wanted bright and bold colors against the soft gray of the rocks. All coloring was done with Spectrum Noir markers.

Challenges Entered
MUSE: Photo Inspiration
Creative Card Crew: Birthday with Sentiment
Moving Along with the Times: December Birthday

  1. Oh, this is fun! I love how you've interpreted the Muse! Inspiration challenges are my favourite too - there's so many ways you can make it your own while still being clearly inspired by the original! Thanks so much for joining us at Muse - hope to see you again!
