I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Sweet New Year
Are you using SVG files with your die cutting machines, well, don't miss out on Designs on Cloud 9. They have a terrific range of files - some complete files, some singular, and of course, a weekly FREE file. I am honored to be part of their Design Team.
For my project this time,I am using the Designs on Cloud 9 cutting file, Apple of My Eye. This is a card that I will be making with a group of children at Hebrew School. The Jewish New Year is coming up, and the children want to make cards for their parents. My nephew will be in this class, and he wants to make a holiday card for his younger brother. For the Jewish New Year, we eat apples and honey to represent a sweet new year. The apples from the cutting file are so adorable, they were the focus of the design. The tree is cut from the Cricut cartridge Every Day Pop Up. The clouds and the owl brad is from my stash. The stamp is from Zum Gali Gali.
