I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Dip in the Pool

Today is the day! Challenge #3 for DoubleClick Skittles, and guess what? I'm on the Design Team. Our third challenge theme is to use a bear or other animal. Such a great theme because there are so many ways to go with this theme, and this time I decided to create a scene.

A quick die cut/svg search yielded too many possibilities to count, and I fell in love with this bear in a pool set from Miss Kate Cuttables, and then I went to town decorating.

I added the sun in the corner and cropped it so that it didn't overpower the bear, and I did the same with the water droplet. Instead of putting them all over the card, I just used the one. I added the flowers, glitter, and of course, my DoubleClick Skittles to add bling and texture. Finally, the stamped sentiment is from Cardz TV the summer Fun set.

My plan is to send this card to my nephews who are now swimming on an actual swim team. It's very exciting.

  1. Great card. Love how you added the skittles as if they were drops of splashing water. Ingenious.
