I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Summer's Over... Back to School

It's challenge time at Exploring Cricut and More. This time we are headed back to school.

I often talk about my nephews and making projects for them. That's because I don't have children. So when I want to make some cute and fun cards, I keep my four nephews in mind (and now a little niece). My two eldest nephews are finally in school, and they are still young enough to love school and be excited about it, so fun cards in their lunch bags is definitely a great addition to their day.

I used my Cricut cartridge Recess, to create this fun "title" School. I love the variety of colors, and the small apple in the middle of the "o". I layered it on a muted patchwork style patterned paper and then added a red frame with cut out arrows. Isn't that pencil great - it's actually a brad. The stamp is from Cardz TV from the Garden Greetings set, and the Skittles (my favorite embellishment) are in the color Terra Glitter.
