I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

Strawberry Ice Cream

Today is the day! The first day of challenges for DoubleClick Skittles, and guess what? I'm on the Design Team. Our first challenge is to use Ice Cream in our project.

But seriously, I just had a delicious cup of strawberry ice cream with sprinkles and chocolate chips. That was pure motivation! That, and this awesome strawberry ice cream cone that I found at Miss Kate Cuttables. It's the top criss-cross layer of cone that won me over. Since I was creating a strawberry ice cream cone, I had a blast with pinks and oranges. All of the patterned papers came from the Recollections, Bold Basics stack. With some white cardstock and kraft paper. The pink glitter ribbon is from American Crafts, and the banner (For You) is a chip board sticker from DavidTutera. The Happy Days stamp is from the Cardz TV set of the same name.

Finally and probably the product I use most of all, my watermelon Skittles. I bought twice as many watermelon Skittles because they work with everything and add texture and shine to my projects. Look at how perfectly the Skittle both match the colors and provide shine.
