I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

~Design Team Inspiration~

~This Weeks Challenge~
Sketch Challenge
Create a project inspired by the following sketch:
Sketch is from Card Positioning Systems

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

This was a fun sketch! Here is my card:

The inspiration for my card came from the rectangle top layer. The first thought I had was of a person leaning against a wall. Who would lean against a wall? That's when I thought of a beautiful woman in a ball gown. She's cool and sexy and smart, and she doesn't have to make rounds say polite things to guests. If someone wants to talk to her, they come to her. So I cut this diva from the Cricut cartridge Suburbia. All of the card stock used is from my stash. I kept this CAS so the focus is on my diva.

When I was finished, all I could think about was Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffany's (I know, wrong colors). I am definitely giving this to my mom because she will not only love the style, but she will love the reference.
