I named myself The Crafting Professor, since I'm a crafter, and I'm a college professor. I went through many, many years of graduate school, and the best source of relaxation and stress relief was being in my craft room or going to a local crop. Back then, I never told anyone that I was a full-time graduate student. I was waiting for the day I would scrapbook my graduation page. Now, I run the ScrapbookerPhD challenge blog (http://scrapbookerphd.blogspot.com), and am bringing my passion for crafting and teaching together. But here, at The Crafting Professor, I'm just sharing my work with like-minded crafters from all over the world.

April Showers

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #208 April Showers

This Weeks Sponsor

Winner will receive their choice of 3 digital images
~This Weeks Challenge~
April Showers
Create a project using an umbrella

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

Here is my project for the week:

The whole idea for this card came from wanting to create a scene. I've never created a scene on a card. I used Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge to cut this wonderful mini-scene with the umbrella, boots and water. With the puddle and vine, this was a perfect set up to create an outdoor scene. So I used the Penny Black stamp set (rain) all across the top, and put a dot of blue in each raindrop. I thought about adding a bug or worm running away from the puddle, and I settled on these two ladybugs. I colored them with red Spectrum Noir markers.

*Note: You can't tell, but I cut a few layers of the umbrella and popped them up for some dimension.

Stamping Sensations: Die cuts and/or punches
The Squirrel & the Fox: Die cut or punch
